Title : To determine out come of the first sign Nail (Intramedullary nail) in Somalia and (North Somalia)

Abstract:

I will talk about the first intrameddulary nail in somaliland. In somaliland we used to treat plating for adult both tibia and femure shaft fractures but since march 2019 up to now. Hargeisa group hospital was the first hospital in Somalia to done intrammedullary nailing (sign nails) thanks to Sign international for their donation to inttruments and sustainability for the nail availibity. I will talk number of cases we have done since march 2019 to September 2022. Their out come, age and sex and cause of there trauma.

Biography:

Said Osman Dahir studied Orthopedic and Trauma surgery at Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia and graduated as specialist (MD) orthopedic in oct 2021. After, I come back to my country Somaliland as the third orthopedic surgeon of my country Somalia of 15 million. I work one of the referral hospitals for trauma and orthopedic in my country. As other part of developing country, we overwhelmed with trauma cases. I want to sub specialize in orthopedic trauma during my followship. My country is very fertile for research if we get grants and support.
