Biography:
Barbara Mera is a third year medical student at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Florida International University in 2017. She then pursued graduate studies at the University of Miami, and earned a Masters in Biomedical Sciences in 2020. She worked as a Research Associate in a Breast Cancer lab and later as a Clinical Research Coordinator at the Schiff Liver Center and the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Miami. In August 2022, she began medical studies where she is currently pursuing a joint MD/MPH degree.
