Biography:
Gerardo E. Sánchez-Navarro, MD, is a Transitional Year resident at Hospital Damas in Ponce, Puerto Rico. He previously completed a two-year research fellowship in the Division of Hand Surgery at NYU Langone Health, where he led clinical, biomechanical, and surgical education projects focused on upper-extremity surgery and reconstructive microsurgery. He has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and presented his research at national (US) and international orthopaedic meetings, including AAOS, ASSH, WSRM, ASPN, among others. His academic interests include extremity trauma, microsurgical reconstruction, hand surgery, and improving access to musculoskeletal care and surgical education.
