Biography:
Gustavo Nolasco Santarem is currently in his penultimate semester of medical school. Always passionate about anatomy and orthopedics, the author suffered bilateral knee injuries, which significantly impacted his quality of life. Prior to undergoing surgery, he researched several renowned orthopedic surgeons in Brazil and reviewed hundreds of scientific articles on Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injuries. He has dedicated himself to comparing the success of this therapeutic approach against historical patient outcomes from the past decade following isolated ACL reconstruction. Through this project, the author aims to demonstrate an alternative surgical approach that, while requiring specific indication criteria, has proven to be highly effective.
