Title : Advanced management of vasclar malformations of intramuscular, joints, bones of an extremity: A multidisciplinary approach

Abstract:

The problem of treating patients with congenital vascular malformations (angiodysplasias) is one of the most difficult in clinical angiology, and when this pathological process affects the knee joint, muscular or  bones of the  extremities, the situation becomes much more severe. The main advantages of surgical treatment of  intermuscular vascular malformation from an orthopedic point of view are minimally invasive access, coagulation through punctures 0.5 cm in diameter, and rapid recovery after surgery. Treatment of patients with vascular malformations of the knee joint should be based on the principles of a multidisciplinary approach, which provides for thorough diagnostics based primarily on non-invasive methods and integration of surgical treatment methods. In case of arteriovenous forms, it should be done together with vascular interventional radiologists, and in case of venous forms with vascular surgeons. Only in this way can the best functional and aesthetic results be achieved. Eighteen patients were treated, with positive functional outcomes.

Biography:

Bagavdin G Akhmedov started his practice in the field of rehabilitation treatment, where he dealt with the entire range of surgical interventions in patients with polytrauma, consequences of musculoskeletal injuries and orthopedic diseases. In 1992, he went to the Republic of Yemen, where he gained extensive experience in treating patients with congenital orthopedic pathology and gunshot wounds of the extremities complicated by bone fractures. He furthered his expertise by completing trainings in clinics of Italy, Germany, France and England, including trainings on joint replacement techniques. Since 2022 he has been working at the National Medical Research Center for Surgery named after. A.V. Vishnevsky as a practicing surgeon, where he heads the Department of Orthopedics and Arthrology. Dr. Bagavdin has 8 patents for inventions and is an author of more than 50 scientific publications, including 2 monographs.
His research priority areas are consequences of fractures and joint prosthetics.
